Get and share your education record: step by step
Check what you need to do to get your education record at your school.
-
Step 1:
Schools will tell you about education records in year 11 before you move to a sixth form or college.
-
Step 2:
You'll need the app to get your education record at school. Get the app from the Google Play or Apple App stores.
-
Step 3:
You'll sit with a member of staff who knows you. They will issue your record to you using the DfE education record app.
-
Step 4:
You can check your information in the DfE education record app and report anything that is incorrect.
-
Step 5:
Education information such as your GCSE results will be added to your record when it becomes available.
You can use your DfE education record app at any time to check for updates such as results of official qualifications like GCSEs.
-
Step 6:
Use your DfE education record app to share your education record with sixth forms or colleges so that they know who you are.
The sixth form or college will ask you to visit them to enrol before you start your course. You will scan a QR code on a staff members screen at the sixth form or college to share your education record.
